We are staunch advocates of integrity within our industry, which is why we embrace the quality standards. Whilst we hold all of these standards, we see them as a target to exceed.

Our self-imposed standards are of the highest order. They include Customer and Officer Charters, which ensure that queries are answered efficiently, and the needs of our officers are met. We haven’t hesitated to formalise our status by becoming members of the accreditation bodies below.

• British Security Industry Association (BSIA)

  The BSIA is the trade association for the UK’s professional security industry. Its members provide over 70% of UK security products and services and adhere to strict quality standards. We have been a member of the BSIA since 1992.

• ISO 9001:2008

  We achieved our ISO accreditation in 2001, and were the first ISI inspected company in the UK to achieve this standard. Six monthly audits ensure that we maintain our adherence to this standard.

• National Security Inspectorate (NSI)

  The NSI provides an inspection service for businesses operating within the security industry. The extensive review of our procedures and processes every six months ensures our adherence to the ISO accreditation. Abbey Security Services Ltd was awarded the highest recognition by this inspectorate of Gold Guarding in the first year. (www.nsi.org.uk)

• Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Status (ACS)

  We have been an Approved Contractor since 2006. Having just completed our third year re-verification audit, scoring 39, we are one of the top 25% of all approved companies. (Figures for March 2009 can be found at http://www.the-sia.org.uk/home/acs/performance/acs_benchmarking_2.htm).

  As a passport company, we are audited every six months by the NSI to ensure our adherence to this approval. Unlike other methods of application to the ACS, each of the 89 criteria must be met immediately, rather than over a three year period.
